Heavy rains totaling 10+ inches over the weekend caused Big Creek River to rise beyond its flood level to a stage where moderate to severe flooding can occur. At 12 feet, the river flows over the bridge at Kimball Bridge in Alpharetta. This morning the road was closed due to over 2 feet of water steadily flowing over the bridge, covering a 200 foot section of the Kimball Bridge Road.
The Big Creek Greenway park entrance at Kimball Bridge remains flooded, though the facilities at the park remained above water. The Greenway is closed and not accessible beyond the park entrance. Pictures of the flooding below.
