The Forsyth Big Creek Greenway is currently closed for repairs between McFarland and Union Hill. It is not clear how long the repairs will take, but many planks on the boardwalks had become uneven and many joists had become loose.
We will keep you posted as we hear more about when this section will re-open. For now the parking lot at Union Hill remains open, and the trail is still open North of Union Hill.

Jeff has lived in the North Atlanta Metro Area for most of his life. Growing up in Lilburn, GA, he has been a fan of hiking, biking, and boating since he was little. Now he lives with his wife and two sons in Cumming, GA. He walks the Forsyth Big Creek Greenway regularly and bikes it occasionally.
Hopefully not long. I use the Greenway to commute by bike to work. Going around (through Shiloh Office park) adds extra time and danger to the commute. Keep us posted.
The Forsyth Greenway will be re-examined mid week to determine when the closed section between McFarland and Union Hill will re-open. Repairs are still underway.
